SAR Color Guard

The color guard consists of SAR members in representative attire of the Continental Army and Militia units. Their participation in  public events, such as parades, reenactments, and new citizen induction ceremonies, has become one of the highlights of the organization.

Members of color guards are often asked to speak with primary and secondary

school students, historical or genealogical societies and civic organizations

to talk about the struggle for independence or their ancestor's role in the founding of this nation.

Membership in the Color Guard is open to any member of our chapter in good standing. We have appeared at Patriotic gatherings throughout the South.

The Color Guard regularly participates in:

  • Patriot's Day Events

  • Memorial Day, July 4th and Veterans Day Ceremonies

  • Educational School Programs throughout the State

  • Liberty Pole Dedications

  • Patriot Grave Marking Ceremonies

  • Parades and Celebrations

  • Living History Encampments

  • S.A.R., D.A.R., and C.A.R. Sponsored Events
