JROTC Recognition Program

The Marquis de Lafayette chapter awards the Bronze ROTC Medal to high school Junior cadets in our area.  The purpose is to foster the principle of the "citizen-soldier," exemplified by the Minutemen of Revolutionary War days. This award is presented to JROTC cadets who are selected for having a high degree of merit in leadership, military bearing and general excellence. They must be in the top 10% of their AFJROTC class and top 25% of their overall class.  The recipients are selected by the Commanding Officer of the JROTC Unit. The winner of this award is a superior ROTC Cadet who exemplifies the high ideals and principles which motivated and sustained our patriot ancestors. JROTC offers the opportunity for high school students to be enrolled in a citizenship program. JROTC courses in Georgia may apply to satisfaction of the credit and concentration provisions of Technology/Career preparatory diploma requirements.
