Supplemental Memberships

Members having more than one qualifying ancestor may file supplemental applications. Since one of the SAR's objectives is to acquire and preserve the records of the individual service of patriots of the war, all members having more than one qualifying ancestor are strongly urged to prepare and file supplemental applications. Supplemental applications must be submitted in duplicate, in exactly the same way as original applications, but on the Supplemental Application form, not on the original application form. The MDL Chapter presents our members with an 18k star that may be worn on the breast ribbon of the Member Badge or on the Official Neck Ribbon for each approved supplemental ancestor.  The Multiple Supplemental Star is presented for those members having 5 or more Supplemental Stars to mount on the breast or neck ribbon.
